Hi guys,

there is a report in SAS VA where you can see the usage of servers on below path:

/Products/SAS Visual Analytics Administrator/Reports/Usage

However, I have issue view it which says the tables "Could not find the requested data source" and I know that the tables need to be reloaded. But I don't know how to load it since I don't have the query and when I try to open the table from SAS EG is shows me error:

is there a way to reload these tables?

You can find detailed information on the auditing process as well as troubleshooting steps at the following link:

https://sas.service-now.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0036304

The audit process is not enabled by default.  If your environment has not be configured to extract and load the audit data, you will first need to follow the documentation to configure this.  If this has been completed and the data is not loading, the troubleshooting steps in the link above should be helpful.

Hi @TSBruce

I'm unable to open the URL you sent, is there another source?

I tried the mentioned steps in URL but it didn't work.

I can't help with the actual issue.

I would assume you will have to provide more detail than "it didn't work" for someone like @TSBruce or SAS Tech Support to work with you towards a resolution

Once auditing is enabled, the audit_visualanalytics  LASR table is loaded via the autoload process. You don't load it manually. Did you review the troubleshooting Checklist in the article? If you go to the Visual Analytics Administrator application, do you see the audit_visualanalytics LASR table loaded (indicated by the green status circle)?

Which version of Visual Analytics are you using?

Hi Madelyn,

I followed the steps on the URL, but suddenly SAS went down, and I was not sure if it's because the steps I did or something else happened.

If I want to enable the auditing, do I need to stop servers and start it again? And for audit_visualanalytics tables it's not loaded to LASR.

Before it was working but when we upgraded SAS from M6 to M8, this issue came.

Really, all of the information for troubleshooting problems with auditing are in that article. If you believe that it should be enabled, then please go through each item in

Identifying the Problem

As soon as you answer "no" to an item in the list, go to the Checklist as indicated and start reviewing each step required to enable auditing to ensure that they are done. For example, this is the first item in the Identifying the Problem list.

  1. Does an audit_visualanalytics.sas7bdat file exist in the  <EVDMLA>/Append directory?
  • If no, then this is a problem. Move on to the Checklist.
  • If yes, then move to step 2.

If you answer "no" to this--meaning that there is no audit_visualanalytics.sas7bdat in that directory--then start going through the Checklist to make sure that all of the required steps were taken. If you answer "yes" to that item, then move on to item 2, and so on.

Hi Madelyn,

Yes, the table is there in append folder. However, it's not updated and when I moved to the checklist step, it says I need to check va.auditingEnabled property but I don't find it in the SMC "Environment Manager Data Mart LASR" properties!

va.AuditingEnabled is a configuration property for the Visual Analytics application, found under Configuration Manager > Application Infrastructure in SMC. Open Properties for Visual Analytics and check the Advanced tab for the property. If it is not set to true currently, then change it to true and restart the SAS Web Application Server where VA is deployed.

@Madelyn_SAS

I'm not sure where to go to find the same properties as yours. Below are the only options I see and I'm using admin user:

And after I went through all options and expanded, I found the Visual Analytics application under below path. However, I don't see the Advanced Tab:

The changes are made using the Configuration Manager plug-in.

Madelyn_SAS_0-1741795182927.png

It appears that you do either do not have access to Configuration Manager plug-in, or maybe the plug-in is not installed on the client that you are using. Are you logged in as an unrestricted user?

This SAS note might help you get the plug-ins installed. However, this is really an install issue, so if you have problems, then I'd suggest posting to the Administration and Deployment community.

After enabling auditing in Configuration Manager and restarting the web application server, if you are still unable to get the audit data loaded, please open a case with SAS Technical Support for further assistance.
